I have been with Wells Fargo for over 10 years and my business for over 5 years. I will be closing my accounts. It is a pain to do business with this bank. I'm a person with great credit, great bank accounts and I still get treated like another number. I was robbed and this bank will still nickel and dime you. Nothing matters to them."

"All management cares about is themselves. The are quick to call HR instead of educating you & reviewing with you! For the longest time, we were understaffed and over worked and the branch manager would hardly assist. Instead she pressured us to always give customers a great experience meanwhile she never cared about employee experience. & at the end of the day the regional manager or other branch managers would always tell her she was doing a great job & she would take the credit for things she didn’t do. Nobody but 1 person on our team likes her (they happen to be friends). She treats you & speaks to you in a condescending manner. & if you call HR, they do absolutely nothing. So many people have left the branch quietly but the reason they have transferred or quit is because of her. The relationship she has with us is so surfaced & only about work. I’ve never worked for a company that they manager constantly calls in, is out on pto, & leaves people in charge who don’t know what to do. I also remember when OTW would pay you if you found fraudulent activity, we were so busy that day she grabbed all the fraud items I had before I could submit it & she later came and told me she submitted it for me. (When you submit it you get most of the money and your assistant only gets $15 I believe) management just truly sucks. They don’t care about you there. The only thing I took away from this is some friendships. If I learned anything, it was owed to the bankers."

"Basically if you have a family or a life outside of the office, you need not apply. They expect you to work 12 - 14 hour days, you are "on call around the clock". Management is micromanagement and the developer lacks the freedom to be creative in his own work. They have no initiative to incorporate newer technologies and discourage the use of anything new, therefore degrading your skill set so you have less opportunity to leave. Most of the day spent in meetings and not enough time to do the actual work. In my opinion, this is not a place I would recommend anyone work. I have nothing good to say about Wells Fargo."

"I was a member for 11yrs,with my Cleaning company and my personal account.the employees were wonderful. Then I deposited $1600 cash over 30 days and they closed my account For money laundering. 1 month later they were all over the new..for open 10s of thousands of fake accounts on there customer. I think they call that carma, it couldn't have happened to a nicer company. F- in my eyes."

"Ok, this review is for Wells Fargo Home Mortgage. Although have banked with WF for many years (not by choice, took over our local bank) and I could give some examples of poor service there, I will limit this to the mortgage side. As we all know, WF opened illegal accounts on their customers and paid for it with huge fines (though probably just a drop in the bucket to WF). Well, their mortgage side is just as scammy and their tactics questionable. We have applied twice now to refinance our mortgage and been denied both times. We have never been late on a mortgage payment and have held this mortgage with them over 10 years. After spending countless hours collecting the info they wanted (we have a business so had to prepare balance sheet and other reports for them) we receive a form letter in the mail saying income ratio not high enough and furthermore our credit (both of which are in the excellent and outstanding range 800+) had "factors that adversely affected your Credit Score". Excuse me?! The slick mortgage consultant made several promises in the beginning "oh, you'll be approved easily and only have to pay $16 upfront for your credit score" (hello, no one else in the industry charges $ to pay for a free credit score) to wiggling around on the rate "you don't need to buy points" to "you won't need an appraisal".
We had to pay our fees upfront, before they would even make a determination. After much scrambling to prepare all the paperwork and hours spent, we receive a form letter with no name on it, just the phone number of our consultant. I left 2 short messages and he never called back, guess once he didn't get a commission he was outa there. When I spoke with a generic WF mortgage customer service rep, she said "oh, you didn't get a phone call? He should have called you"--yeah, right this guy was as slick as the speedo he wears while swimming on the local swim team (told me all about it, real friendly-like). Needless to say, we're moving all our accounts outa there! WFHM is so greedy--how can they deny us again when we've paid them tens of thousands of dollars interest (on time, every time). They have a good thing going so why would they give a long time customer a break and try to save them money. Community means nothing to them. It's all a lie to cover up their avarice."

"Wells Fargo charge too much fee with no reason. I have one charged came in Sunday morning; still on pending . I forgot about it. I deposited cash on Sunday morning. Wells Fargo charged me $35.00 on Monday morning for insufficient fund. I called them that charged came in Sunday morning still pending; I deposited cash on same day morning. Customer service said.. they don't care the charged on pending or not.. If an account is insufficient. they will charge fee. I said: my account no insufficient until this charged in on Sunday morning. I though they don't work on weekend. Am I right?! They work Monday to Friday only. It doesn't make any sense. No wonder Wells Fargo bank has many lawsuits. Don't do business with them. it's not worth have account with them."

"Erica Clarke and Mike Donnelly, representing the Tucker, Georgia Wells Fargo branch (4099 Lavista Road, Tucker Georgia 30084), have treated their account holders—my 80 year old sister and her husband, a 4-year disabled Air Force Vietnam Veteran—terribly. I assist them twice a week with life-supportive and routine errands including their mail, banking, and grocery shopping. They are both bed-ridden and cannot drive a car anymore. I travel some distance from Roswell where I reside to Doraville where they live. I had called Mike Donnelly’s office, who is the Southeast regional manager, but he was just as belligerent and combative as the branch manager Erica Clarke. In retaliation for my complaints about Ms. Clarke’s lack of interpersonal skills, negative attitude, lack of customer service, and her overall belligerent behavior, Ms. Clarke told me that I would not be permitted to visit her branch moving forward. I responded by pointing out that I was the ONLY TRANSPORTATION available to my sister and her husband. It didn’t matter. To reiterate, Mr. Donnelly and Ms. Clarke are insensitive to the elderly, the sick, and to our military veterans. This being said, and as an aside, I noticed on the BBB (Better Business Bureau) website that Wells Fargo has a rating of “F” with 3,167 complaints launched against them in the last 12 months. Complaints against this Tucker branch are seemingly higher in number than the state or national average for Wells Fargo. I am forwarding these concerns, and others, onto the OCC, albeit these two aforementioned individuals (Ms. Clarke and Mr. Donnelly) contend I’m wasting my time in complaining about their actions and that the OCC has no authorization, jurisdiction, or regulatory power over the conduct of this Wells Fargo branch or the Southeast Region of Wells Fargo in which it is located. They argue that they are immune from the scrutiny of whistleblowers like myself or the oversight of the Office of The Controller of the Currency."

"If I could give a negative review, I would.
We purchased a vehicle with Wells Fargo several months ago and wanted to refinance with our Credit Union for a better rate. Credit union sent out a 10 day payoff for the vehicle. After about 2 weeks, nothing was showing up on our account. I called Wells Fargo several times and was told it takes a while to show up and it would be fine. That was the beginning of June. MULTIPLE phone calls later, still no payoff posted and we are now "over 30 days late on our payment". We had contacted our credit union who also contacted Wells Fargo and they were told that no payoff had been received. They put a stop payment on the original check, and overnighted another payoff. (More money since this is now late fees and interest, plus 2 months of car payments)We are now almost 3 months later and getting phone calls to collect payment. As of today, we just now have everything done. The kicker.....Wells Fargo HAD BOTH checks and cashed them both within a day of each other. Of course they kept the larger amount and eventually returned the smaller check. So very shady!!! How in the world does that even happen? What a SCAM!! Not one person that I or my credit union spoke to could give us any correct information as to who to talk to, where to get information or how to get it taken care of. They are so unprofessional and not at all helpful. They couldn't be bothered. RUN!"

"The biggest scam I have ran into since another bank I was with. This is a smooth scam if you don't watch you're money and transactions. Where I made online purchases was a little slow at collecting funds so Wells tells me I am overdrafted because the money that was spent came back into avail. balance. I said if it came out of pending then why is there no transaction posted on the statement? Response was that is not a transaction when it falls out of pending. I responded with but is it not a pending transaction when it goes into pending? They responded with...... This is a crap way to say you double spent the money without having to show tto identical transactions. For instance you bought 20.00 online the merchant waited 4 days to collect Wells allows 3 days or 72 hrs. now that 20.00 came back into you're Avail. Balance you didn't spend that 20.00 the same way if at all my balance never shot up above where it should have been so I know nothing fell out and back into my account to be spent. Watch closely honestly bad bank."

"There have been so many egregious situations both my family and myself have experienced with WFB. I also used to work for them, and let me say, they have severely deteriorated since. My parents have had multiple accounts with them since 1974, great credit, no NSF, etc. Someone gave my mom a bad check and WFB refused to reverse the $12 fee they gave her for it, and when she needed to stop a payment on a check herself, they refused to waive the $35 fee. Why? Like they don't already make enough money off of their customers with all of their hidden fees and other extraordinary things they do in secret? So much for being treated better for being a responsible account holder, and so much for customer service!

My story is years long, but one particular instance comes to mind that was mind-blowingly surreal. I was an account holder many years ago, but switched because I (mistakenly) thought a credit union would be better. Not our local one, anyway, so back to Wells Fargo I go. When I went in to open a new account, they noticed I had been a customer before so to make things, "easy" they linked my information from my old account to the new one. I really didn't want this because I knew it was going to be a total cluster; which is exactly what it was. Since she linked everything, I couldn't access my online banking; I had to make 3 separate trips into the branch for them to fix it. Then the new account she opened was some second chance checking (I have no idea why), even though she could see my good standing with the bank before. Because of this, I was unable to make mobile deposits, and whatnot. I asked her if there would be an issue with hold on my paychecks, because its happened before, and she reassured me I would have no issue because....drum roll please...she could see my prior accounts had been in good standing. So, why are you opening up a second chance checking for me?
Anyway, I deposited my first two paychecks through the ATM without issue. The third time I went into the branch because the ATM line was too long. Made my deposit, and everything was fine. Fourth time I went back into the branch to make my deposit and suddenly, the teller has to go get a manager. Great. So now, they want to place a hold on paychecks because of the type of account I have. I explained in detail everything that had happened with this account, and he could not have cared less. He had a thick British accent, which normally I love, but I wanted to shove his right back to England. When I questioned why, if my account was a loser account, my previous deposits through the ATM and the branch had gone through without a problem. His response was this:

Chuckles at me and then says, "well the ATM is not a person."

Deeeerppp, REALLY??? OMG I had no idea. So insulting. So I said that very well may be, but the people inside the branch in which HE MANAGES are most definitely of human origin, and they did the same thing. So if he's so on top of everything, why has all of this garbage happened?

He just looked at me with his big fat doe eyes and said, "maybe you should just go to the ATM."

Well I did. But I have since learned the ATM's will take your check, put up a notice on the screen than they're putting a hold on it, and confiscate it where you can't get the check back at all.

I do not bank at Wells Fargo anymore."

"I made an appointment to discuss a business account at the main branch in Gastonia NC. Today the branch manager called to confirm the appointment, which is tomorrow morning, and asking questions that I expected to be asked at my appointment meeting not on the telephone. When I asked why was she calling asking these questions the manager seemed to get an attitude. When I confirmed I would be there at the appointment the manager just hung up on me. She didn't bother to say thank you, goodbye, see you in the morning, nothing just hung up. I have been considering a new bank anyway so maybe it's time."

"With the Home Mortgage side, they caused me to fall further and further behind. I had been with them for four years before a check was a small amount short through auto pay, so I ensured the amount needed was there and asked them to pull the amount again, they did, but it was nearly a week later, and because of the struggling economy, the funds that I counted on them pulling were no longer there, which resulted in several fees, through them and through my bank. Each time I’d attempt to make a payment with them they would wait up to a week later to pull the amount which kept causing me fees, and they would reject the whole amount even if it was only $5 short, causing me to be months behind. Finally, the only way for me to resolve the issue was to come off autopay because it was more harmful than helpful, and just send money orders until I could recover. This is very hurtful and dangerous to the customer and thank God I was was able to recover. This was definitely a disadvantage to the customer and could have caused me to go homeless."
